Dr. Electra Allenton, ND, LAc, MSOM.
Dr. Electra Allenton uses her training as a naturopathic physician and licensed acupuncturist to bring ease and stability for a wide variety of mental health issues, including adjustment, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, AD(H)D, OCD, insomnia and sleep disorders, addictions and compulsions, post-partum depression, and behavioral disorders.
We don't come into the world with a companion users manual, and being in the world causes our strategies and reactions to change over time; you and Electra can work together to figure out and fine tune what it takes for you to survive and thrive!
Because needs shift over time, she provides orthomolecular psychiatry, amino acid neurotransmitter balancing, targeted nutrition, gentle acupuncture and moxibustion, Western and East Asian botanical formulas, homeopathy, aromatherapy, Shiatsu and Sotai bodywork, lifestyle counseling, and pharmaceutical management, depending on what is needed at that point in your life.
Her commitment to grounded and attentive bedside manner extends even out to her warm hands when she takes your pulse. Dr. Allenton enjoys working with adults and adolescents alike.
Dr. Allenton earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters of Science Oriental Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2016, and her BA from Grinnell College in 2005.
Her experience is centered in integrative clinics ranging from major hospitals to non-profit community clinics, where she collaborates with medical professionals of every sort to ensure the best opportunities and care for the patient. In her spare time, she volunteers at the Portland Veterans Acupuncture Project and the Returning Veterans Project, voraciously listens to podcasts, and knits mittens.
