Naturopathic Physician

Martha Pace, ND

She/her

Dr. Martha Pace is a licensed naturopathic physician practicing integrative mental health and primary care. She was first brought to naturopathic medicine as a patient herself and is intimately familiar with the intense emotions that can come with being on a healing journey. She looks forward to bringing empathy, optimism, and curiosity to your medical care, while empowering you to be at the helm of your health.

Much of Dr. Pace’s clinical experience has focused on complex mental health conditions, LGBTQIA+ care and gender-affirming hormone therapy, hormone balancing, substance use and recovery, cardiometabolic conditions, and eating disorder medical management, all from a trauma-informed and Health at Every Size® (HAES®) perspective. She approaches health from a foundational point of view and incorporates a wide variety of therapeutic modalities to attain patients' care goals.

Dr. Pace enjoys working with patients from all walks of life, but she has a special place in her heart for underserved and stigmatized communities, especially LGBTQIA+ and gender-nonconforming, bigger bodied, formerly incarcerated, those with present or past substance use, and houseless folks. As a queer, cisgender, thin- and able-bodied white physician, it is important to Dr. Pace to recognize the impact of these identities and commit daily to creating safe spaces for everyone she encounters. In order to achieve this, Dr. Pace brings self-accountability, humility, trauma awareness, and honesty into her patient visits. It is her belief that health is the sum of a life lived in your body, environment, and circumstance, and because of that, she aims to foster a therapeutic relationship free of judgment or sanctimoniousness.

Outside of doctoring, Dr. Pace is obsessed with dogs (and frankly any animal friend) and would love to see a picture of yours, if you have one. She is a firm believer that self-care comes in many forms and fills her cup with hiking, cooking new vegetarian recipes, traveling, dancing to music from one of her many curated Spotify playlists, and trying new restaurants in Portland with her partner. She is excited to chat with you about what makes you tick, too, and hear how you think she could best support you in your care.
